What a step back in time this concert was
the sound was as good live as i remembered from 24 years go.
all those songs i loved as a kid being sung to me now as an adult……surreal!
Time may age the body,
but the voice of Midge Ure is still as young as ever.
Billy Currie still plays the keyboards like a little kid
who ate all the blue smarties.
Warren Cann still kicks the crap out of his drums. (very well i might add)
and Chris Cross just gets on with it like the head boy.
This was no pub band,this was a group of men (like Genesis)
that are very good at what they do and have a product they can sell.
according to Midge:

Geeeeeez….I wish I could have been there. Surely hope they come to Japan in September….
I hope they take the tour outside the UK. If they come to Sweden I’m so there.
watching the blogs closley in the buildup to Friday 24th April at Hammersmith Odeon (yeah i know HMV Hammey Apollo blah blah blah). Saw them here in Dec ’82 – monument tour (the night the monument video was made)then afterwards on the ‘Lament'(?)tour – you know what i mean…Still the best finish to any gig i’ve ever seen – the extended drumming in the voice bit i mean, i hope they play that again!!(sic) yeah i’ve been on you-tube. Can’t believe it was 27 years ago since that night- remember it clear as anything. Have been playing a lot of the Vienna & Eden albums lately (on vinyl at home of course) and they sound as sharp as ever. Good to see the set list is staying fairly faithful to the tours of old, i can’t wait. Midge, if you’re listening, you’re free at the end of June and there’s a stage at Worthy Farm with your name on it – it would be fantastic to see you at Glasto. Come on down & make us happy!! Until tomorrow night……………make this London lad a happy chappie. W Pk
