being a so called service manager the guvner and top book have it about right
dfs dont always put there hands up when theres a fault because of the service figure theres a lot of not quite telling the customer the truth (if you know what i mean) how many times do you find colour come off the leather and you get told to tell them its airfreshner or something they have done or foam seats collapsing tell them its natual softning and stuff a bit of extra foam through the webbs

Hi, wondered if anyone can help, I ordered a suite from csl in april,
I signed a finance agreement on buy now pay in a years time.
At the time of purchase I was asked to pay a £250 deposit but I did not have the money with me,
so they said I could come in and pay later.
I never did pay the deposit and due to my finacial situation I had to cancel the order.
I called the finace company and informed them and wrote them a letter as well.
Since then I have spoken to the manager of the store
and he said that I have to pay them one thousand pound, 1 third of the order price,
as I havent paid a deposit or any money they cant deliver the suite,
I would like to know if I have any rights or if they can force me to pay, can someone please help,
the other thing is I am a housewife with no job and they let me have the finance in my name only,
I am married, but wondered if they should of checked my financial situation,
Id like to put all this behind me so can someone please help me,
feeling sick at the thought of having to speak to these people again
and I would like to be prepared,
thanks and kind regards
Jo..

Hi Jo,
They cannot force you to take the sofa that you have ordered.
They will try to make an appointment for you to go in to see a manager to discuss your options,
but just say that you cannot afford it and thats it !!
They will try & try to get you to go into store, but believe me you don’t have to.
(All I can say is that I know what I am talking about!!)
They will go away!

Bernie M @ Manchester store is an appauling manager and his breath stinks off extrement!
I find his breath offensive with all the lies that man tells.
I always thought CSL was a company with integrity but this man is a joke!!!
he brings down everything in what CSL believes!
I got told that as a store manager his team
“only takes my money and order and the rest you deal with head office, okay? bye!”
so rude and abrupt I would never NEVER recommend my enemy, never mind loved ones!!!!

My partner & myself purchashed a leather recliner corner suite from CSL in Dec 08 costing just over £2000.00 we took this out on their finance plan, in April 09 i rang them to ask for someone to check the filling as the suite wasn’t equal in firmness on different seats, a so called engineer came out (in suit & tie!) and informed me it was wear & tear, i asked how this could be and he said i should be plumping the cushions daily a few minutes after he had left someone from customer service rang & said a engineer had been today & his report stated that no fault was found i argued this & she put the phone down. Since then it was put on the back-burner as to speak as I have had numerous operations(i am disabled with mobility and dexterity problems that’s why i needed a suite with reasonable support) so my partner rang again not long ago and was told if we wanted another engineer out we would be charged £49.00 so after i had got well enough i rang back & said i would not payfor another inspection i said i had consumer rights and he offered to let me know them (cheek!) i said i would take up my rights and he offered as a gesture of goodwill to drop the charge (another cheek!)i asked him not to send another suit and tie this time a guy turned up (no suit & tie) and said he was independent & worked for the ombudsman god knows what that means but he did say there was a problem & would report it but then a few minutes after he had left i got a call from customer service saying no fault reported, i was so angry i said see you in court. I also mentioned the advert on the T.V saying 5 year guarantee surely that is misrepresentation as is does not mention it only covers the framework. I am finding the suite uncomfortable to sit for long periods and this is not what i expected so if Fred can help me i would be grateful. Oh when i was shopping near the store we bought it from a few weeks ago quite a few unsuspecting shoppers were in the store especially on a bank holiday sunday i yelled to all in the shop from the door not to buy from them as all their furniture, guarantees and customer service is misleading & c**p
