Chose our leather sofa on 15/10/05 and told it was in stock
and we could take receipt of furniture as soon as we liked.
We asked for delivery date to be 07/11/05 as we were decorating the lounge.
BIG MISTAKE!!!

On the 7/11/05 I contacted CSL,
only to be told that the furniture was not on reserve for us.
(Even though it is clearly stated on the invoice).
Customer services informed me that the furniture would be delivered
Week Commencing 21/11/05.

I did not settle for this and many calls later to head office
I came to the same conclusion as many of you have already discovered
THEY ARE WORSE THAN USELESS.

They kept contradicing themselves, could not give clear answers,
they would not let me speak to a senior manager,
in the same conversation they would say they were the most senior in the office
but yet was unable to make comments or comitments,
they would not return calls as promised.

We started to communicate through the staff at the Blackpool Store
and even they would be fobbed off and could not get the information for us.
Blackpool were also quite honest with us and stated
that the left arm doesn’t know what the right is doing at H/O.

CSL lent us some loan furniture which I have to say is in good condition.
However they sent us our insurance documents start date 10/11/05.
When we queried this with H/O this was because we had the loan furniture.
When we challenged them on this statement
suddenly they were no longer able to help us with our enquiry.
This was passed on to the Blackpool store to deal with.

We have taken interest free finance out on the furniture
and Blackhorse were informed
that we received the furniture on 07/11/05
and started to take payments as of the 01/12/05
again challenged H/O it took five days for them to return my call
stating finance is an agreement between us and Blackhorse!!!!

I spoke to H/O on 28/11/05 asking for a new delivery date.
I was told that the furniture was currently in a container
being shipped to the U.K. and would arrive on 07/12/05
Although I dont have a degree in geography I wasnt aware
that there is a ocean between Oswaldtwistle and Kirkham!!!

I contaced H/O again on 29/11/05 and the girl who I spoke to informs me
that my furniture has been sat in the warehouse awaiting delivery to us since 25/11/05.
But thats CSLs customer service for you!!!

3rd of December 2005

the furniture finally shows up!
However I am sure your not surprised to hear there is more.
The van “unmarked” turned up and the delivery men looked at us in surprise
as they had yet another loan suite and our bought suite in the van.

They were also told to collect an old loan suite which consisted of 2 , three seaters and one arm chair.
I had in fact only had one three seater and one arm chair.
They were as confused as us.
The delivery men started to make phone calls in order to sort out the confusion.
At one stage they were told not to delivery the new suite
as we did not have the correct loan suite to return!

Fortunately for us the delivery guys had a bit of sense
and decided they would ignore the person on the phone
and take the loan suite away and delivery the new furniture anyway.

The delivery men inspected the loan furniture and noticed it was damaged
and stated we may possibly have to pay for the damages to the furniture.
I threw my teddy in the corner at this point and showed the delivery men
the damage that was done to our property when they delivered the loan suite
and it matched the damage to the furniture.

The delivery guy stated that

“there was no need to pay for the damaged furniture,
the first delivery guys obviously forced the sofa
through the doors of our hall way and living room”

damaging our paintwork and display cabinet.

when all they had to do was to

“remove the legs from the three seater
and it would of fitted through perfectly!! “

They assured me that they would be able to get the suite
“out of our property with ease. “

This was not so.
The guys have actually broken my light fittings and left me with a hole in my ceiling.

On speaking to I’M SORRY (customer services)
I was told to look on the back of the contract
where it clearly states that
any damages to the property is of no responsibility of CSL.

The new sofa was delivered.
Before it even came into the house I checked for the CSL Hall Mark “MADE IN CHINA”
fortunately it was missing and did state Italy.

I have to say at this moment in time I am happy with the sofa.

I still have not received a reply from my letters or e-mails.
I think customer services are very poor.

I have not yet received our updated insurance documents (I think that is a scam too).
I also think that something must be done about the Terms and Conditions of CSL.
You only get the T & Cs once you have ordered your furniture.
It states on there that you do not have the right to cancel.
I thought everything had a cooling off period when taken out on finance?

The fact that they give you approximate delivery dates and then state that
only after nineteen weeks after the original delivery date
do they consider late delivery of your furniture.

The fact that, if they can not supply you with your original choice,
you will then have to select another piece of furniture.
You still can not cancel is ridiculous.

They can damage your property and you can’t do a dam thing about it.

The damage to our property is estimated at £350.00
that’s a big bill for all the messing around we have had.

So although our piece of furniture seems safe and sound at present

I would most definately not recommend CSL to anyone.

Also, anyone watching the adverts now,
don’t be fooled the sofas were that price back in October 2005
